‘The Ocean Behind the Window’ to go on screen at Zlin filmfest

Iranian ‘The Ocean Behind the Window’ is to go on screen at the 60th Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic.

Iranian feature ‘The Ocean Behind the Window’ has been selected to go on screen at the 60th edition of the Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic.

Directed by Babak Nabizadeh, the film narrates the story of a teenage boy on a remote island who tries to promote the island’s tourism and attract tourists.

Though life on the island improves by increasing the number of tourists, an unexpected problem arises.

Nabizadeh’s film participated at Isfahan’s 32nd International Film Festival for Children and Youth and won the diploma of honor for the best actor and the main award of UNICEF.

The cast of the film includes Hadiseh Karami, Mohammad Azadi, Mehran Mozaffari, Jafar Qasemi, Hassan Zakeri, Bahram Komijani, Amir Qavidel, Yousef Ranjbar, Qolam Ranjbar, and Mohammad Salimi.

Founded in 1961, the Zlin Film Festival, also known as the International Film Festival for Children and Youth, is an annual festival of children's films in the Czech Republic.

This year’s edition of the annual event, which used to be held in June, has been rescheduled over the COVID-19 pandemic to be held on September 4-10, 2020.

The festival will present 300 films from 50 countries, including 158 premieres as well as 37 film workshops and a supporting program.
